This is an extra fundraiser so that scouts can earn money towards summer camp fees. Money
earned will be calculated based on participation and will be deducted from your scout's

age of 13.
This is essential to a safe and successful event. Don't forget - you will get wet! Wear
appropriate clothing, footwear and sunscreen. You might want to bring a towel and a

What We've Done This
Year...
Oct. 12 - 14, 2007 -- Troop Camping at Cathedral Pines
Great weather marked our season opening troop camping trip. We had over 30
boys enjoy camping, biking, cooking and campfires. Lots of rank advancement work was
completed and the patrols began the season working together and building great teamwork.
Sat., Oct. 20th, 2007 - JOTA
We participated in this years' "Jamboree On The Air" from the Marconi
shack in front of the FJC School and were able to talk to many other scouts from around
the world.
Tues., Oct. 30th, 2007 - Court of Honor
We had a great Court of Honor with lots of scouts being presented with awards,
merit badges and rank advancements earned over the summer.
- Nov. 2 - 4, 2007 -- Troop 244 "Webelos Woods" at Baiting Hollow
Scout Camp
Despite the rain and strong winds from the remnants of Hurricane Noel, our first
"Troop 244 Webelos Woods Weekend" was really a great success! Pack 244
Webelos decided not to come out but Pack 6249 came with about 16 scouts. In true
Troop 244 spirit, we didn't let the wind and rain slow us down. We were able to move
our activities indoors at the dining hall.
Our senior scouts did a fantastic job running six stations covering Fire Building, Map
& Compass, Cooking, Knife Safety, First Aid, and Knots & Lashings. Training
materials were provided to the senior scouts for each station and I heard from several of
our instructors that they were amazed how they felt they really mastered the material
after having to teach it to the young scouts. It was great for our older scouts to
reinforce the skills they 'kinda' already knew and for the younger scouts and Webelos who
truly benefited from the knowledge and experience of our older boys.
- Sat., Nov. 17th, 2007 - Eagle Court of Honor
We celebrated Chris Ryan's outstanding achievement. Congratulations
Chris!
- Dec. 8 - 9, 2007 -- Troop Cabin Camping at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp

being presented with awards, merit badges and rank advancements earned since September.
- Sat., Jan. 12th, 2007 - Benjamin Tallmadge Winter Camporee
We had great weather and a really fun day pushing our new Klondike sleds around
Baiting Hollow Scout Camp. Thanks goes out to Mr. Koridis for build two great sleds
that held up perfectly.
- Fri., Jan. 25th - 27th, 2008 - Winter Cabin Camping at the Mattituck Scout
House
